Frederick resident Marcus McRae, 22, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 10 by members of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the Frederick Police Department following “an extensive undercover investigation” that began in July.
On Friday, Aug. 12, investigators announced that McRae was charged with:
- Three counts of Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) possession – paraphernalia;
- Three counts of CDS possession with intent to distribute narcotics;
- Three counts of CDS possession not marijuana;
- Two counts of CDS distribution of a narcotic;
- Illegal possession of ammunition.
Investigators executed a search warrant in the 1800 block of Greenspring Place in Frederick on the day of the arrest, according to police, who received a tip that McRae was allegedly selling crack cocaine and powdered cocaine throughout the region.
As a 16-year-old, McRae also faced charges in Frederick County, according to the Frederick News Post. According to the report, he allegedly was involved in the attacks on several people and armed robberies with a knife.
In that case, according to the report, McRae and three others were charged with robbery and assault-related charges.
